iPhone wifi not working

Ok so as of two days ago, my iphone has had major difficulties finding wifi networks, let alone connecting onto any of them. I live in an apartment complex and normally my iPhone shows a list of around 20 different networks, but now my phone sees none of them. I can even lay my phone on top of my router, and still nothing. Earlier today I passed by an Apple store, and my phone couldn't even pickup the free wifi there. I have already tried resetting my network settings to default on my iPhone, restored my iPhone, and still nothing.

Anybody else having this problem?

Thanks in advance.

The freezer method works.

My little cousin's iphone 4s brand new had the wifi problem and absolutelly no cause whatsoever. We put it in the freezer after trying everything to reset and wipe the phone and it worked again!

I put it in a sealed plastic bag we sucked with vacuum first. Left it for 15 minutes then works now, will see if it stays good or we'll have to trade it for another unit.

I read on this "beijing iphone repair" website that it's because of bad solders that the wifi stops working. Seriously, such an expensive premium device should not have this type of problem! Now every time I buy something from Apple I should fear something?

My friend had a problem with his speaker earpiece, dam, I never imagined I would see another problem of such proportions up close. And there is no cause for these things, they just seem to happen. O.O

I was having issue of connecting to home wifi. Was able to connect, then would drop off and would not be able to reconnect regardless of the numerous other methods I tried. Apple support was of no assistance, nor was Verizon. I read in another post to do the following and oddly enough, it has worked like a charm.

- airplane mode on

- power off phone

- power on phone

- airplane mode off

- wifi on

Reestablish your wifi connection.

I have an iPhone 4s 32g with Verizon service that I only purchased a month ago. All updates for iOS have been made.

I hope this helps anyone else who has been having the same issue that I had.

The Fix by Rudnxtx was awesome. I just tried the steps and voila !!! it instantly resolved my Wii-Fii issue.

Earlier since the update of iOS5.1.1 done on my new iphone 4S it had been over a month with wiffi not working. I managed to connect to wii fi using the Static Ip configuration on my phone for my router.

Now with the terrific simple trick, I can now remove the static ip config on the wii fi and my home router is automatically deteced.

Kudoos to all the great guys there skimming through different resources on net and bringing out the best solutions to this forum. This helps us all. I suggest people to try this tip certainly once. Well it worked for us, hope it works for you tooo.

Here is Rudnxtx suggestion:

- airplane mode on

- power off phone

- power on phone

- airplane mode off

- wifi on
