Date and time on my iPhone keeps changing to GMT or Cupertino time

Hi,

Somehow my date and time settings keeps changing to GMT/Cupertino despite setting it to Mumbai (India). Because of this all my alarms and calendar events have gone for a toss. I have changed the time to Mumbai multiple times, but it keeps switching back without event touching the phone. I even upgraded to 2.0.2 but the problem persists. Any idea what else can I do to get this working.

Thanks,
Avinash

I spent over an hour at Vodafone's torture centre today. All they were saying was that GPRS on the iphone won't work until I activate the iphone data plan (which btw, has higher rentals than normal plans). When I asked them how come it was working all this while and suddenly went kaput, they had no answer.

Yelling and screaming at them never works because they refuse to react or give the names or phone numbers of anyone senior. Breaking and smashing things is an option but they have security.

So now, I'm back at work after mental harassment from Vodafone. I also have no GPRS. What's worse, I will also be paying a higher rental under the new plan that they are forcing on me and that I have no choice but to take up.

All this because I wanted the time on my iphone to display correctly. Amazing.

Hi e'body

Seems some how all manage to resolve this issue with using Delhi as Time zone.

I was just reading this discussion since my last post.

On Thursday 11-sep my Iphone got hang at apple logo after running some application. After reading some forums i got solution to restore my Iphone

I did it and till today I don't have any problem with date/time Issue and my Time zone is also Mumbai 🙂

I have noticed that before starting restoration there was message saying Carrier Update for Iphone(don't know this is normal or any special update for carrier provider)

Later I have updated my software to 2.1 with iTune 8.0 (as this new update fixed few bugs) after software update also there no Issue for date/time.

Just wanted to share this information with you all... might help...
