Screen resolution problems - Keynote to iMovie HD to Quicktime to DVD

Last week quicktimekirk led me through this problem successfully (thanks Kirk!). But after having to take off about 10 days to focus on other priorities, I'm having problems duplicating last week's successful step by step procedure. Outlined below are the steps I'm using, starting with the Keynote file exort to QT (which look awesome played in QT).

1. Open inspector/document and choose:
Presentation - normal
Slide size - 1920x1080

2. File/export:
Self playing movie
Slide duration 5
Build duration 2
Custom:
Video - Full size (1920x1080)
Select include transparency
Settings:
Compression type: AIC
Frame rate: 24
Compressor:HDV720

CHECK THE FOLLOWING:
Video compressor: H264
Video size:1920x1080
FPS - 24

After all this, when I try to import the QT file into iMovie, I get an error message that says the file wasn't imported; unknown error. Can someone give me a clue? Maybe Kirk?

Here's how it works in the "real" world:
You (the author) decide on the delivery format, dimensions and codecs used.
The (your) viewers decide if they can view based on your authoring concepts, codecs and dimensions.
Short of making more than "one" file (multiple file exports are easy in QuickTime Pro) you're forced to try and make a one size fits all project.
Authoring using QuickTime Pro gives great flexibility in the final distribution format. New in QuickTime version 7 is an "Export for Web" feature that can make one file into three modern formats (Web, cell phone and HD) based on your page visitors connection speed and device.
You make a "Source" file. That is done by the equipment used or the format chosen to assemble the file.
You gain nothing by starting with HD sized images if your target is CD ROM quality.
Know your audience and your delivery format and you'll know what to start and finish with.
I still think QuickTime Pro is the best choice.

OK - You've sold me. Today I will give it a try. As for the distribution, it actually is not intended to play on anything bigger than a computer monitor. And I do like the option to format for different equipment. Though I would hate to see what it would look like on a phone. There will be some titles and subtitles that I can't imagine would be legible.

I will keep you posted! Muchas gracias Kirk!!!
