Quoting myself from further up the thread:
....however starting a new thread is easy, _*you just have to drill down to a specific forum*_. The *Category: iTunes* for example lumps together 12 different forums for both Mac & Windows users on various aspects of using iTunes. This is great for users when browsing across the related forums for topics of interest or to which they might contribute. However _*it is only when you select an individual forum*_ that options to post new topics & questions are presented.

HELP! I am so new to this forum. Someone told me about it years ago but I didnt need it but now I do. I purchased an iPhone recently and my network is offering me free applications but my iTunes has a friends @mac.com account and I dont have his password. How can I get an @mac.com account and how can I change his account to my account on iTunes so that I can download the free apps from my network, O2? Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Is this the only way to ask a question to choose post a reply?

Nope, and posting a reply inside an existing question that is not titled something relevant to your own question, is a good way to not get a response.

In the Main Forum window, on the left side just below the line that reads, "Forum: Using iPod shuffle (Second Generation)" (this text varies by individual forum) there is a clickable link titled, "Post New Topic".

It a good idea to search the forums before you post a new topic, b/c the answer you seek might already be there in a prior post, and you're more likely to have your question read and responded to if it's not a duplicate of another similar or identical question.

Hi. I've spend the last hour trying to find out how to ask a question also. My question is that I have a CD label with 7 albums (at this point in time) and I can find no pathway to get them onto the iTunes Store. So where and how do I ask that question?

You have to contact Apple Corporate directly. You can't just upload music for sale.

Google This
"sell my music on itunes"

For all you folks trying to figure out how and where to post a question -
When you sign in to Discussions you will be at the main page.
On the right side of the screen you will see a question mark and "Help and Terms of Use." there you will find step by step instructions.

You will also find this same suggestion at the top of the welcome page.

Very simply you pick the forum that applies, then pick the category that's appropriate. Once there look for the "Post New topic" icon. Click, type, post.

It is considered bad form to post a new topic before browsing the forum and category you are interested in. There is a handy search form to help you find what you are looking for. Most of the time your question has already been answered and you will find the threads that cover it very helpful.

If this sounds like too much trouble - check "Terms of Use"
This is not by the way customer service. It is users helping users.

Peter has it backwards, folks.

You choose the Category first. The Categories have no links to post a new topic. (Sometimes, as in the example below, there is a Category within a Category.)

You must choose the appropriate Forum within the Category to start a new topic. When you reach the appropriate Forum, each Forum has a link at the top (right under the Forum title) which you can click to "Post New Topic."

Ever since I contacted iTunes for helping reloading purchased TV shows, I have been unable to download from iTunes. I keep getting this message:
UNABLE TO CHECK FOR AVAILABLE DOWNLOADS. THE NETWORK CONNECTION TIMED OUT.
MAKE SURE YOUR NETWORK SETTINGS ARE CORRECT AND YOUR NETWORK CONNECTION IS ACTIVIE, THEN TRY AGAIN.
I have already contacted my internet security provider who found no problem at their end.
iTunes reps have been unable to assist even though they created the problem. Can anyone help me?

Hello I'm new here, I just can't find where to ask a simple question, I DO understand that you are busy replying to questions and don't want to duplicate, trouble is I'm a 60 year old woman and I just don't have the time to read the last two months of questions so I can find out where to ASK a QUESTION! I could be dead before I get to the end of them! I hope you will understand as I think I have accidently deleted the refresh button on safari. can anyone help please.

I recently bought an 8g Ipod Touch and have had it for less than a month, just yesterday, the forth of July, I was in my Aunts house and it caught on fire, god bless we are all safe. When we sort everything out in the family, is it possible for apple to replace the Ipod? It was destroyed in the fire, I just want to be able to write everything down so that when we get this huge family crisis out of the way i can sort out what i have lost in the blaze, i would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you.
