"Key and coin SCRATCH test" video clip!!!

For anyone wondering or worried about your iPod scratching, I made a video that shows off the strength of the Invisible Shield protective film that I bought for my 60GB 5G iPod.

The video contains close ups, key scratching, and a ziploc bag full of keys and coins to "simulate" an iPod inside your pocket. In the end, my iPod remained scratch-free.

Here's the video:

Don't sue Apple if you want a scratch-free iPod... just buy a good case 🙂

So what do you think?

For the past couple of days i've been hunting down plenty of reviews for this product, and your information/video was the most helpfull to me.

But, I found something that can save me a lot of money. It's called "Best Skin Ever". It only cost $6.99, and with shipping + canadian exchange rate it comes to a total of less than $15!($9.24US)
I pretty much made my descision, but I went back to the IvisibleSheild site anyway, to check how much the shipping would cost to my area... $16.38US! That's more than the total cost of the BestSkinEver

I don't mean to come on here and put down the product everyone is praising, I believe the IS is a fantasic product... but I found much a cheaper solution and I felt obligated to share it.

This is where I found it (in the comments) http://ilounge.com/index.php/news/comments/invisibleshield-for-5g-ipods-announce d/

As the IS, the BSE claims to have been made from helicopter blade flim. It has the exact same cut-outs for the nano iPods as well as the 3G.

Unlike the IS, BSE doesn't seem to have a lifetime warranty, or great customer service like IS. But with the money you save, i'm not too worried about it.

A few more points

It was rumored that the Invisible sheild was the exact same material used for bumpers and headlights on vehicles by the company 3M. The Rainy Day Magazine shows that the Best Skin Ever is made from this material as well, and BSE isn't afraid to show it. The 3M trademark is still left on the backing.

Rainy Day also points out that the cut-out has the exact same outline as the Invisible Shield, more proof that this is the same product, only for much less.

BestSkinEver will give you your money back for any unused product. If you're afraid of making a mistake, you can order a few and send back what you didn't use. http://www.bestskinsever.com/servlet/the-template/policy/Page

I have a question, is it exactly necessary to wash the invisible shield with soapy water before putting it on the ipod? That sounds absurd. It sounds to me like that would only make it more complicated, because I wouldn't know how moiste to make the cover before putting it on, and I would think it would leave a lot of room for mistakes and might ruin the ipod. How hard is it to align perfectly without using soapy water? thanks.

I bought this product for christmas. I applied it to my families three ipods,

a nano, a 5g video 30g and a 60 gig ipod photo

IT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

i had babied my videopod since the day i got it in october... ONLY EVER took it out of its provided pouch to change songs and too charge and it was still showing scratches. now with the invisibleSHIELD i can do whatever i want. just like my old 20g 4G ipod pre-photo blue and grey screen. i could beat that thing up and it never got a scratch or broke, i must have dropped it 50 times and it today works wonderfully. i sold it 2 my best friend and he loves it. haha i was so worried about my new ipod. ALWAYS afraid to take it with me for fear of scratches and getting dinged up. but with the INVISIBLE SHIELD i can put it in my pocket, set it down on a table, let my friends look at it, and not worry about damage... you just wipe the invisible shield with a soft cloth and finger prints are gone forever. my silver back will stay shiny forever. it will only scratch with a sharp knife. and i mean a sharp knife.

Apple should sell this product on its website and i am SO confused why they don't!

BUY IT or don't buy a video ipod/ nano.

Hi Lepht,
I put my 5G iPod + invisibleShield in Apple's black holster case (the one that came with the 3G iPods) and it fits fine. It also fits my car holder nicely too.

The invisibleShield covers the front, sides and back. The front and back piece wrap around the sides and meet on the side of the iPod where the plastic meets the metal.

Hope this helps. 🙂

So after the shield is put on, does the iPod still
fit in all of it's designed cases?

Also, does it cover the sides? I mean where does the
shield start and end on the iPod?

Just one last commen. If this shield is really that
effect, apple really outa think to make it come with
the package.
