Software issue.

I just got the computer game Spore, and when i first installed it there were no issues, it ran well for at least an hour. now today when i try to start up the game and play it runs for about a minute and goes to the desktop. it tells me a variety of issues but the gist of it saying there is "an un-handled exception raised in..." some where along those lines. i was wondering what i could do or if anyone knew what is going on. i have Mac OS X 10.5.4 and i'm on a Macbook. could some one please help!

ok, found the problem in my case: corrupt registry.
navigate to ~/Library/Preferences/SPORE Preferences/
and move the following files to the trash:

system.reg
user.reg

then run spore. after the splash screen there is a 30-90 second wait... the screen will remain black during this period. eventually, the maxis splash animation will play.
before i removed those reg files. i had waited 15 min on the black screen for it to load. after i removed them, only 30 seconds. the best part: as far as i can tell, my settings are all the same, with no loss of preferences from deleting those files.

if you want to change your settings (fullscreen or windowed, etc), just hold down option while starting spore. this will pop up a cider panel on which you can change that and some other settings.
