WPA on 2nd Gen 2.1.1

Update:
- fails with D-Link DI-624 and WPA.

But today the person on the phone was helpful and not trying to BS me off.
He had an internal article from the 7th of October that said it is a known bug and they are working on it for the next firmware release. No date, though.

I just received this from Apple's Bug Tracking Dept. after filing a report:
After further investigation it has been determined that this is a known issue, which is currently being investigated by engineering. This issue has been filed in our bug database under the original Bug ID# 6214662....

I just searched Apple's bug database and there is no report found under that ID.

Fixed! Finally. Firmware 2.2 is now available for download and specifically addresses the WPA bug. It appears to be working for me so far.

V2.2 fixed it for me too, on my iPod Touch 2G.

I'm Using a dlink DIR-655.

firmware V2.2 also solves the problem for me

Problem solved after 2.2 fmw!

This is a "me too" post since I've regularly complained about the wifi issue on the 2gen. Mine now works perfectly!

Thank you, Apple. (never mind all the angst and one sent-back iPod over the issue)

Worked under v2.1.1 however YouTube clips would give you a "Can't Connect" error and not work --- under v2.2 still the exact same across the board. Not an encouraging sign.

Still have to test on our DIR-655's under WPA/WPA2 for a more comprehensive evaluation of Apple's v2.2 "fix" after months of silence from Apple - not convinced in the least as their track record is not so great (and their lack of customer communication is arrogant at the very least).

Add me to the list. I bought the 2g the day it was released in Canada and have had to use WEP all this time, along with having next to no wifi connectivity at free hotspots. I've tried the update at home (D-Link DGL4300 with WPA-2) and at Starbucks, both wifi's connect flawlessly!

I use to turn WiFi on just to check my email. Every time I had to go through the -on- wait - off - on again - connect...
Now, it's just one finger slide!

WPA/WPA2 for D-Link 655 router completely resolved.
Refresh rate for wifi is also noticably faster.
Thank you APPLE for solving a problem that never should have been.
My faith in apple has been restored.
