iPhone 3G 2.1 says no Sim Card

Hi, just finished downloading and intalling the 2.1 firmware update and everything was just fine, but after the update my iPhone 3G says "No Sim card inserted" and instead of signal bars i get this No Sim message.

So Restoresd via iTunes, After Restore it now a message on the iPhone appears saying "No sim card installed, insert and unlocked and valid SIM to activate iPhone". Could you help me please!

I am also in Mexico. I just purchased an iPhone 3G from Telcel today. I was seeing the network with no problems until I installed the 2.1 patch.
Phone Serial:88835XN8Y7K
SIM CARD:89520 20608 39113 4822F

The SIM also says telcel v3.0

Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you can tell me some of the problems associated with this, I have connections with the team at Telcel and would be able to offer technical support.
Thanks
