Happy with 2.1 Update

Well, I for one am very happy with the 2.1 update. AT&T provides me with weak 3g coverage at my home even before the 2.01 update. While my 3G coverage from ATT is not any better, the iPhone does a much better job of hanging on to the signal than 2.02 did. I no longer drop calls when I am sitting in my living room. Battery life seems better to. Usually after 8 hours of use i am down a 1/4, it is still showing a full charge.

Agree with you totally, streakin667.
love my iphone... nothing will replace it.

MMS and video recording, its just a firmware away... the camera's already there so video is a certain possibility,... probably some issues are holding the development team back for this feature. And as seen on the new ipod nano, voice recorder is also a firmware upgrade away, ... or an app download away. MMS is definitely possible,...since its using 3G to send the data anyway.

I dont mind paying another $9.95 for video recording, voice recording and MMS to be added to 2.2 firmware upgrade.

As an Apple Owner going back to 1984 and a fnboy the iPhone with 2.0 software drove me nuts and I wanted to throw the iPhone against the wall and go with Vista 🙂 (Oh No!).

Now with the 2.1 upgrade I can say I am all happy again. Update went smoothly, backups are much faster and get even faster the second and third times. Finding a signal here has gotten somewhat better (big city) and to my amazement battery life has gotten better. Appears to be almost twice the previous battery life but I am still testing this out.

Happy in Belmont Shore, back to Apple fanboy status 🙂

finally, im happy with my iPhone 3G, and im not using it while walking on pins anymore.

ive requested the following, to keep it inline with every other phone and make it fantastic, because these... i do miss.

1. Bluetooth File Transfers
2. MMS
3. Video Recording

add them, and this is the ultimate device for me, still its great without them but everytime i use the phone, it reminds me every time that it does not have these.

ive requested them in the feedback page, but honestly... i dont think they read em, because they never seem to listen to me. 😟

I believe he said that he got 4 days this way:

... if i leave it in airplane mode during school hours then it will last me 4 days. Plus i have 3G turned off, no push, location service is off, wifi is off, bluetooth is off. Just on edge. And I dont' use the internet on my phone. Only listening to music (2 hours everyday) and calling (and texting)

Happy too!!!

Trying to update from 2.0.2 looked like it worked, but when i took a closer look there was no genius in ipod app, the phone performing the same. I checked in settings and it was 2.1.... I also see that all my apps and media was there. So I tried a clean install restoring the iPhone. After restoring I synced my apps and media. Turn of and on. After that WOW!!!! i have a new iPhone!!!!
Exactly was with my wife iPhone and my daughter old iphone.Did the same the same trick and works perfect!
Apple can not fix AT&T network unfortunately. Divorce is the only thing to do.
Anyway Apple did its part and that's GOOD.

Happy with 2.1 Update
