got my first crack :(

i take really good care of my phone but noticed a hairline crack near silence button....is this something that i have to live with or will apple replace it?

also, should i expect more cracks? how crappy is my phone going to start looking? (16g - black)

According to Nathan C., a moderator of this discussion board, a 5K serial does not necessarily mean it's a refurb. According to him, Apple has been issuing 5K serials to new iPhones.

Recently, replaced my black 3g 16GB with crack on headphone port. new one was in a white box, it was not a refurb no fingerprints and had the light tape around it same as with new retail. Genius assured me that the white box was to save on the expense of wastted accessories if they pulled from a new box, also that phone is still too new to have refurbs in channel. Mine was defintely not a refurb. Bought my wifes a few days later...it had 2.02 installed so much for that notion. Both hers and mine, have a slight dimpling near the headphone port toward the screen.
