After 10.5.5 update, Macbook LCD not working but external monitor is good

After installing the update via Software Update to 10.5.5, the Macbook restarted but the LCD is showing up with a white background and nothing else.

Plugging in an external monitor, everything is ok.

Has something in the updated affected the LCD?

With 10.5.4 I could use my external monitor on my MacBook Air, but not with 10.5.5.

I installed 10.5.6 on a virgin partition on an external drive, and it worked fine. I then updated my main boot drive from 10.5.4 to 10.5.6, and it worked fine.

For me, the problem is solved!

Hi everybody,

just wanted to say that everything works fine. I upgraded to 10.5.6 the day it came out. I have to admit that i forgot my external monitor because it hasn't been working for more than 4 months. So everything now works now how it should work.
