Sequence settings to 1920x1080

I am using a Sony XDCAM-EX1 camera Full HD camera and am shooting in full 1920x1080p30 format instead of the normal HDV 1440x1080 format.
But in FCP6, in Sequence setting, when choosing the Frame Size or Pixel Aspect ratio, I am not given the choice of 1920x1080 but the highest shown is 1440x1080.
In this case I feel that I am loosing the quality of the HQ 1920x1080 picture that is generated from the EX1.
However, I see that I can make a custom setting. If I determine on a custom basis 1920x1080 in picture size menu, will it be OK? And what precautions should I take when I want to export the sequence for working into DVD Pro and burn a blue ray disk with the highest picture quality?

when you create the new sequence don't forget to double click it to open it in the timeline ... I'm betting you're creating new sequences but not actually opening it into the timeline ... and when you open the sequence settings you are looking at the same old settings for the same old sequence (untitled 1 or whatever) thats already open in the timeline.

Anyway, now I think I found the correct setting, after having watched the Lynda.com tutorial by Larry Jordan.
My sequences are exported in Quicktime movie and keep their original quality (1920x1080 progressive.
My only dsappointment is for the poor adaptability of DVD Studio Pro, the latest version which does not support Blu-Ray. What a shame.
I had to purchase Toast 9 (Toast 7 or 8 does not support Blu-Ray).
I imported my mov files into Toast9 and the outcome in the Blu-Ray disk are fantastic, crispy.
