Syncing error 13014

Hi....I just did the new update for iTunes and when it was finished I tried to sync my iPhone 3G and I keep getting the message, "The iPhone cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (13014). Any suggestions? Thanks.

Got same error this am immediately after updating to iTunes 8.0.1. Phone appeared to sync just fine, but got 13014 error message at the end. Disconnected iphone from computer, turned iphone on and off, quit out of itunes. None of which helped. Did a hard restart on phone and restarted computer. Syncs fine now. No error. Don't know if it was hard restart on phone or restart on computer cuz I did both at same time. I'm guessing that Apple maybe should've written a computer restart into the update? Could that be the problem? Just restart the computer b4 u sync to prevent problem? Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the great suggestions regarding error 13014. Tried the hard IPhone reset - no luck. Restarted computer and sync worked perfectly!!!

Simple fix but I agree with earlier posters. Apple should have made it almost mandatory in the ITunes update 8.01 that the computer had to be restarted during installation. That would have avoided all the angst and consternation that I'm sure was felt by many users already and soon to be created as soon as unsuspecting users update to iTunes 8.01.
