Well I used to have a Mini and it is now being repaired for the third time in 7 months...It's probably not all Minis but I have heard that a lot (including mine and my friends') have problems...so I hope that getting a Nano, like I will when Best Buy finally gives me my replacement money, will be a better product than the Mini was for me. Just lettin' ya know.

I would get a mini if you are planning on using your ipod on a daily basis. The nano I had got very scratched up in the 3 days I had it, even when in an empty pocket or in my hand. Also, after three days the screen cracked for no reason. The nano is very nice but very delicate so only get it if you know that you will be able to constantly hold it in your hand,as it doesnt have the handy belt clips the minis have/

Id get a Nano.

Ive got a nano. Ive only had it for 24hours but it looks great and seems strong enough. It does however need abit more care as it so thin and because of its surface gets scratched realy easily. Also if u have swetty hands (like my friend) every time u touch it u will leave a big finger print on it (it show up especialy on the shiny back and if u get a black one)

On the positive side of the nano. It looks far better, its smaller and is flash baced. Its tiny abit taller, abit less wide and 5x the depth of a credit card.

If u buy a mini ther will be a limited number of new accesorys for it, however the nano will have loads.

I have had battery problems with my nano (i hope ther just superficial eg. just the battery indicator) but from what i can tell its just me.

Melissa- Even though apple is no longer manufacturing the Mini, Apple is selling it on the Refurbished Page for $159 (4gb) and $199 (6gb)....And a lot of stores are still selling it. I had a mini and sold it to buy a nano and I preferred the mini much more than the nano. It was very reliable and never a problem, it was more durable too and never scratched like my nano does. Geof

Well, no one has asked the truly important questions: How do YOU see yourself using an iPod? Any idea on how much you will want to store on yours? Will you be using it in the car? At home? Both?

I have owned mp3 players in the past. But my 2GB nano is my first iPod. I am having a blast with it. Don't regret the purchase for a second. BUT - If I knew now how much fun I would be having, I would have purchased the 4GB nano!

I think that the Nano is the better choice. Lightweight, beautiful color screen, Aqua-like interface, flash-based, and so much more. My advice before buying the Nano is to be prepared. Get a good case/protector for it and order a tube of Displex just in case. I bought the white one simply because it doesn't get marked up as easily as the black one.

Good luck with whatever you choose.
