Apple is going to have to do something about the scratching

I think Apple is going to have a major problem on their hands when enough of these are sold. They chose a poor material for the Nano and will probably have to change it in the manufacturing process soon. The Nano is a beautiful product and should not have to be covered up just to avoid the slightist scratches from fingernails etc. I bet the Apple stores will soon be required to replace their floor models everyday to keep from turning off the customers. I have treated mine like a king and it already has a few scratches etc. They could at least use the best Lucite they used in the previous models. Only time will tell.

I know its not really morally acceptable for this to be sold, but it is true that all of the nanos (excluding cracked screens) work perfectly well, nowhere in any warranty does it say anthing about aestheics, its just something people will have to deal with. i got my nano black, have lots of scratches but apple do not legally have to do anything, but if they dont it might hurt their profits in future, i doubt it though.

just my 2 cents

My iPod scratched just wiping a finger print of the back. The screen and back are scratched and I have not even had it a week. I called Apple and explained the situation and they claim there is nothing they can do. I'm 16 and my uncle called about the same thing and they gave him a free one. Age discrimination? I think so. Not to mention they didn't replace it. I love Apple products but this is going to cause major problems for Apple if they don't fix it.

My cell phone is weeks old without a case, and I can wipe it off with a rough paper towel and NOT ONE SCRATCH.<</div>

Then I bet your cell phone screen is Not LCD, i mine is but it closes shut,
that protects it.

but it should in no way get damaged while someone places it in their clean jacket pocket. How can you even argue otherwise!!!???? <</div>

You inspected there pockets, did you. Pleeze people are so good at avoiding personal responsibity ????????

$200 means alittle more to them than someone who's money flows like wine? <</div>

My money does not flow like water which i perfer to wine incidently everything I have, i also WORKED for!!! & I take good care of it.
Purchase is a choice, reading ones manual is a choice. Not reading it is a bad choice LCD scratches.Dents. you not wanting to do not make a difference.
Nothing Scratch resistant about it !!!!!!!

Let's hope they're wrong..

I have a 4G iPod 20G that is all scratched up. I would not trade it for anything. It works perfectly and has for almost 2 years. Color? Nano?

These devices are going to get scratched with normal use. I do not think any of us should expect to keep them completely scratch free. That said, a t-shirt should not scratch a screen. If that is happening, then Apple needs to do something. I have confidence in them. They will take care of their user base. They did with previous products. Just give them a few months to get things straight. In the mean time, sit back and enjoy your music.....
