Apple is going to have to do something about the scratching

I think Apple is going to have a major problem on their hands when enough of these are sold. They chose a poor material for the Nano and will probably have to change it in the manufacturing process soon. The Nano is a beautiful product and should not have to be covered up just to avoid the slightist scratches from fingernails etc. I bet the Apple stores will soon be required to replace their floor models everyday to keep from turning off the customers. I have treated mine like a king and it already has a few scratches etc. They could at least use the best Lucite they used in the previous models. Only time will tell.

EXACTLY!!.. im trying 2 days now to get a support answer from apple.. went to a apple store in holland and i got this answer after asking this simple question.

'i have my apple for a 2 weeks now. look how heavily scratched it is.. (they even checked my jacket pocket)'

reply was:
'wow thats really bad damage on ur ipod. consedering ur jacket pocket is made of a soft material, But we cant help u. we only sell the product. '

so my point is!.
i have waited 3 weeks with patients after paying for this product(259 euro). after just 1 whipe with a towel its allready scratched.. and yet u can only advice us to buy a film screen protector.. whats the point if its allready scratched..

im really tired of this. i feel like i threw 259 euro away.
annyone who is thinking of buying an ipod nano. with pain in my heart i advice u not to . ! ..

...just got mine yesterday (the case - iSee Nano). I would have ordered it at the same time as the Nano but I didn't realize that there was a scratching issue so the Nano has a few marks but at least that's all it will get now that it's encased in the crystal clear acrylic case.

PS - I do NOT work for or have any personal stake in the company selling or making the iSee.

Sorry for the double post but it wasn't showing up after posting. Guess that it's a bit of a problem with the new configuration of the forums.

Langdon, I agree!

By now nearly eveyone has heard about scartching problems and it's your own fault if you don't get screen protection for it.

I feel badly for the fist buyers of the nano who were not entirely aware of this issue, and products for protection of it were not readily available. However, this issue has since gotten adequate press and numerous products are available. LET IT GO.

This is rediculous. I have surfed the web to see what other people think about the scratching issue. I do not beleive people understand how easily the nano scratches. People are talking about how storing it with keys can scratch it- which it can, but it can be scratched by softer things than that... take... denim for example? Not soft enough? How about a plastic ziploc bag? is that not soft enought? is... lint soft enough for you?

Apple is going to have to do something about the scratching
