Nano coverings...thoughts?

I just ordered the iPod nano crystal shield and screen armor from decalgirl...i have been planning to use them along with my iPod sock which works great alone so far...i have a few scratches, but nothing that really inhibits the viewing of the player...it's just been loved so far, i just want to make sure it gets the protection it deserves :o)

has anyone else tried something like this yet? i haven't been able to find a straight answer.

Thanks!

As Davo mentioned a few posts above,
a seller called europedigital is selling them on ebay.
I recently received mine and tried to put it on as cleanly as possible. I have a LOT of small little bubbles but the application instructions said its normal and that they should disappear within 24 hours. Hopefully, it does. I will post back up if anyone wants to know the end result.

If you use the iPod sock be sure to turn it inside out and give it a few good smacks to dislodge any grit. All pockets trap grit. It's another reason why Nano's scratch in "empty" pockets.

I'm on the list for the iSkin Duo too. My only concern with the Duo is not about protection but how easily it will be to get the Nano in and out of a pocket. That's a pretty grippy type of material. It will probably grad every piece of lint out of my pocket too=fuzzy iPod. It'll be fun finding out. I still want an Opod Otterbox though.

I also ordered the StickIT from eBay and I received it on Friday. Yowza is right about the tiny air bubbles. I tried my hardest to apply it perfectly, but there always seems to be a ton of tiny air bubbles on both sides of my nano. When I woke up Saturday morning, the number of bubbles drastically reduced and I'm assuming most of the bubbles will go away soon enough (there are however some bubbles that won't go away since a speck of dust got trapped under the StickIT before applying. I'll probably try to reapply again to make sure it's dust-free). This product is one of the only ones offered that protect the sides of the nano, but the result is a rather uneven seam down the back of your nano where the two sides of the vinyl meet.

This product does it's job by protecting the nano. I've actually not taken my nano out for the past 2 weeks because of the fear of scratching, but now, I feel that I can. This product is not the best though, because it seems to me that the corners of the back might be susceptible to peeling off when being handled roughly or constantly being taken in and out of your pocket. I just rub the end of the vinyl back down when it starts to peel off. This is by no means a permanent solution for me (I'm still waiting on my nano tubes), but the product shipped fast and it does prevent scratching, so I'm using it for now.

R.Gabriel - I found that when I applied my StickiT, I rolled the sides on by pushing down on a soft cloth on the table. This made a nice smooth application to the sides.

Mine also met perfectly at the back and the air bubbles I pushed out with my fingernail and a soft cloth.

The tiniest of air bubbles remained, but hardly any at all the following day, just a few. So I am well happy that at least it is protected for now.

finally got my decalgirl crystal skin.
i'm trying to get all the bubbles out and make it fit flush to the player, but so far i'm very happy!
all the tiny scratches that were on the player aren't visible with the skin on...it's very cool
seems to protect it well...doesn't leave any sticky goo behind (had to reapply it a few times) it's not the easiest application in the world...but with a little patience it's not so bad.
i'm very happy 🙂 i have something to keep the fingerprints off so i don't feel the need to polish excessively and i still get to see my little friend in all of it's glory, covering up the beauty of the design would be just sad.
hope this helps.
