Nano coverings...thoughts?

I just ordered the iPod nano crystal shield and screen armor from decalgirl...i have been planning to use them along with my iPod sock which works great alone so far...i have a few scratches, but nothing that really inhibits the viewing of the player...it's just been loved so far, i just want to make sure it gets the protection it deserves :o)

has anyone else tried something like this yet? i haven't been able to find a straight answer.

Thanks!

Hi Izzy,
I've had trouble finding all these decal girl skins and cases in the UK, and cant be bothered with shipping and import duty.
I bought some Playstation portable screen protector and cut ti down to size, I've been really pleased with the result, Its thick, protective, and non glue (not sure how it sticks on, but it comes off fine!)
Ive overed the whole front for now with space cut out for the wheel, but when the cases come out I'll be using whats left just to cover the screen (the screen never seems to be protected by covers...)

I did this as a precaution really, I havent had that much trouble with scratches, and have used it everyday for a week!
It would have been nice if apple released some cases with it though, instead of those gay arm bands.

Hello Izzy,

I rate the StickiT as fitting better, because it has nice smooth curves cut on the corners and at all the points where it has to go round the side etc. So no snagging issues.

Also, it just seems to cling better, with bubbles easily pushed out and most of the remaining bubbles disappearing by themselves.

Just seems overall a nicer quality product.

Good luck with finding some iPod protection.

Thank you Davo.
I'll take a look...where do you find them?
we must have purchased different decalgirl skins...mine doesn't cover the sides and doesn't have anything sticking out...i have a few problems with bubbles, the recommend a hair dryer...i'm a bit scared to try it...i'll just leave it a few days, i'm sure the heat from being in my pocket will serve just as well.

This seems a bit much for a $200-50 product from such a great company such as Apple.
Is a case/cover/skin a must for a Nano now or might Apple actually remake them so they dont scratch so easily ?
The DecalGirl skins do look really cool, maybe Apple should put one in the retail box, black and white ones with a good screen protector.

Hey Gabriel,
are your bubbles gone now? Mine are still there. and also, once I put on the sticker for the center button, it's impossible to get off. I tried to take it off because there are small bubbles underneath and I only ended up scratching my scroll wheel. I don't know about you, but this stickit has been a disaster for me.

P.S. Davo, did you use a credit card to apply your stickit? I was told to do that by europedigital but I'm afraid I will scratch the nano if I do.

If you are worry about getting your iPod nano wet during the process of putting on the InvisibleShield, then check out our article on applying the it the iPod nano.

It took our fumbling fingers 3 attempts before we got it the we wanted...no ill effects on the Shield or the nano 🙂

There is now a pic of what the whole thing look like after a week of the nano banging around in our pockets...
