Who LOVES their MBP ..

Thought I'd start this thread as I cannot believe some of the things that people complain about. I understand faults from the factory and general bad workmanship, but some of the things are truly amazing.

Anyway, I love my new MBP including the glossy screen.

Anyone else out there with me. Chime in and lets start a positive thread about an awesome computer ..

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

Thanks so much for your comments, capaho.

I don't mean to be disrespectful to those that feel passionately about glossy vs matte. (My best friend is a professional photographer that feels very strongly about the matte screen.) I just felt that the screen on the new MBP is exceptional. And I know you do too. So, for what it's worth, I thought I'd give my new owner's take on how spectacular it is in real world use.

The glare is actually a non issue. For me, anyway. I have a fairly bright desk lamp right next to the screen. When the MBP is not turned on it looks like a mirror and reflects the light around it like crazy. When I first opened up my MBP, I was really worried that it was going to be unusable for that reason.

Thankfully, I was overjoyed once I pushed the power button. No glare whatsoever!!!

For others who need matte professionally, that's a different story. Hopefully, Apple will, at least, always give professionals that choice with the 17 inch MBP.

Anyway, great to say hello to you. And I appreciate and agree with all that you said.

Have two new ones, and both of them run very good. I expect problems with software and hardware with such a radically new product, so I'm being patient.

The only "issues" I've had are occasional lockups while playing games in XP, but that seems to be happening less frequently.

These are fantastic laptops.

I absolutely LOVE mine. While being very new to Apple, I had no idea how much I would end up being so enamored with it. Be it my iMac, MBP, iPhone, or even my AppleTV.... I love these products.

As I tell most people when it comes to my MBP.... you would have to pry it from my cold dead hands before I would give it up ...... (Of course until someday when the next awesome one I buy to replace it comes into my life.....)

Fastest and most beautiful machine I've ever seen, let alone owned. Nothing is as big of an issue than I thought it would be. The first time I've ever used this type of keyboard, I love it. The first time I've had a "glossy" display, It's nothing like the normal glossy. First time I've been able to dual boot into Windows and play any of my favorite games... Also, first time I've ever been so happy with Leopard's performance.

Apple still has it. Also, worth noting, the 9400M works, about, one thousand times better than my iBook's ATI Radeon 9550 (4xAGP)... and it's integrated. Bravo Apple.

So far the only issues I've had are all... windows related :P

I just got my 2.4GHZ model yesterday and can't take my eyes off it. I'm coming from a late 2007 white macbook. I thought the added weight might be a cause for concern, but that certainly didn't play out. The weight difference between it and my older macbook is negligible. This machine is bomb. I love the processor and the screen is gorgeous. The new trackpad has to be one of my favorite features; I find myself wondering how I was able to live without all these handy gestures Apple's built in. My favorite aspect by far is the unibody design. I've always been drawn to the Macbook Pros with their sleek aluminum looks and the new designs certainly didn't disappoint. All and all, this was a great purchase decision and I'm looking forward to using it day in and day out.

Thanks for starting this thread. I too love this machine. I was at first not happy with the hinge--screen falls down too easily. But I find the latchless feature of the display a good tradeoff. Another great improvement is the keyboard for several reasons. The separation of the keys makes your typing more accurate and the recessed keys means you should never have to worry about marks on the screen. Not too sure about the trackpad yet, takes a little getting use to. Love the glossy screen even though I preferred matte previously. Sound is better than on the original MBP. Most of all, I just love the solid feel of this machine and its sleek design. A true winner.
