Left fan Buzzing

The fan on the left hand side of my new MacBook Pro makes an audible buzzing sound as it rotates, is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is this normal? The fans in my previous generation MacBook Pro did not make this noise.

MacBook Pro 2.53 GHz 2 Core Duo, Mac OS X (10.5.5), 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 SDRAM, 320GB HD

One of the things I have noticed in this thread is that most, if not all, the offending computers seem to be the latest version of Macbook Pro. Mine on the other hand is the immediately preceding version, early 2008, which is less afflicted apparently with this problem. At an rate, in my case, as in Kevenly's, the problem more or less solved itself, but in other cases defective parts are clearly at fault.

You're quite right, I am in the wrong MacBook discussion. I never noticed, since I was searching for symptoms that more or less matched my own & this one seemed to. Thanks for putting me right.

I had this issue too. Took my machine,and they gave me a new one, swapping my drive. Of course, they messed up the drive swap and erased my hard disk. /sigh. 7 hours later, this new machine is up, but the space bar is not registering sometimes. So I guess it's time for machine #3.

My new MBP just started clicking...

I'm going to take it in to get fixed, but here's some debug info:

2100-2800 RPM on Left Fan ...very audible clicking sound.
4000 RPM on Left Fan ... you really dont hear it?

I'm having the same problem and not getting much help from Apple Support, besides "send it in for 10 days and we will fix it and send it back". The Apple Store wont deal with it because I bought it online. I used it for 1 day and they refuse to swap it out for a new one. I have been happy with Apple Support for years, but this time it seems like I'm dealing with a brick wall.

That doesn't sound like Apple Support to me, dronetacular. I purchased my MBP online (2.8GHz) and the genius took it in back and said they would order the parts and call me when they come in. I was able to use my (noisy) MBP until the parts came in. It took them less than a day to finish the repair.

Do you have an Apple Store nearby?

Same here. I brought my son's 3 week old 2.8 GHz MBP to our local Apple store when it started making unusual noises and they ordered the parts no problem. Parts came in (both fans) in about four days and they replaced them inside of an hour when we brought it in. No issues since (two weeks now).

lol noponies, sounds like a propeller airplane. But, yep that's it. That's about half as funny as the looks I got in a room full of people during a meeting with my brand-new MBP (prior to getting it fixed, of course).

I have the noise from left, but I do not know from how far can you hear the noise, for mine, I can not hear it if 1 meter away, but a little when normal working. So I do not know if it is the same problem as you guys

In my case it changes from time to time. Sometimes it is very silent but on the other day its like an propeller plane 😟
Hopefully the new fan will fix it.
