Cannot Connect to iTunes Store?

As of last night, I cannot connect to the iTunes store. I get a message saying "iTunes cannot connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection timed out". My network and internet are working just fine (all other applications that require internet connect run fine as well). I ran the diagnostic and it says "Secure Link to iTunes Store failed". I have tried everything the help button told me to do and nothing worked. Here's part of the diagnostic report:

Same issue in Cleveland!

I'm also using iTunes 7, having heard horror stories about version 8. Is everyone here using the same version of iTunes? Maybe they dropped store support of version 7.

Im having connection problems as well, yesterday afternoon, iTunes was working just fine, this morning whenever I tried to purchase something I get this message :"We could not complete your iTunes store request. The network connection was reset.Make sure your network connection is active and try again."
so frustrating!!!!!

I would also advise people to not "hammer" the server with purchase requests - my concern is if these are actually queued up and might actually show up on your credit card. I'm not going to attempt any purchases until this is resolved.

Ultimately, if Apple doesn't want to sell me their audio, or intends for me to upgrade to a "new and improved" version, I know a few other places on the net that gladly will sell me tracks at $0.99, DRM free. So it doesn't really matter all that much.
