guyz, would you recommend I upgrade to 4GB (for $90) directly as I buy the 2.4 alu MacBook from Apple online store, as many third-party kits seem to cause problems, and it's not the same for everybody...A third-party kit is around $60, so I'd be paying an extra $30 but would guarantee that the one offered by Mac store actually works, right?
Same story. My Kingston rams are 1066D3S7/2G X 2
First time installed, after a while, machine crashes on me, with still screen + color horizontal lines
I went to kingston and swapped a new set of rams,
ran my machine with these new rams, for one week,
then problems occur again tonight when i was heavy loading my machine
I would definitely go with the Apple RAM from the online store. You're definitely assured then, or at least very highly assured, things would work better than third-party RAM.
Here is my experience. I just bought new MacBook unibody and upgraded the ram with 4 Gb DDR3 from Newegg. Ram I used was Mushkin fro about $58 US dollars. It booted right up and I have not had any problems so far!!!
Just as you never see the bad days in a photo album, it seems that you don't see the good days in these forums.
The thing is I upgraded my RAM from Crucial last week and so far works great, I consider myself to be a power user and just before I installed I made very exhaustive research on the matter.. on Crucial's website all I found was 'Excellent' reviews and in Apple's discussion forums all I found was bad news... so I decided to take a chance and luckily I worked out for the best..
The performance now on my Mac it's just freakin awesome, you wouldn't believe how fast it starts and how it runs rather smoothly my virtual pc...
