Adobe Photoshop 7.0 not working on OSX 10.5

My Photoshop 7.0 is not working on my new Macbook with OSX 10.5. I receive this error message:
"An unexpected and unrecoverable problem has occurred because of a a program error. Photoshop will now exit."

I tried reinstalling it but still get the same error. Is it not compatible with the new OS?

iMac G4, Macbook G5, iPhone, Mac OS X (10.5)

I was forced to purchase PE6 and am having majot problems with it. Specifically, no matter hwat I do, my Epson scanner driver (or twain) will not show up as an option to import. I've downloaded nice fresh Epson drivers from the internet too - so they're on my computer ready to be read and imported. But they just dont show up!! Ergo, I can't use my scanner. Ergo, I waisted another hundred bucks. Anybody an expert on this? Advice??

You usually need to reinstall your scanner driver after installing PSE for the program to see the scanner. However, Epson scanners can be difficult since for some reason Epson tends to rely on the Adobe TWAIN driver (notoriously buggy) rather than having a separate plug-in for PSE. If you're still having problems after reinstalling it, post back. There are other things to try.

Might this be a solution?

About week ago I got a 2.4 ghz Macbook and LO - my old PS 7 did not work. I tried reinstalling with no luck. Also fired up a new user acct, still no luck.

(And I swear this is not spam, I am a real user in need of image editing like you).
My main uses of photoshop are:

web page layouts
image tweaking & adjustments for layouts used in InDesign type software

Instead of getting upset, I looked into alternatives and quickly found

Pixelmator
pixelmator [DOT] com

After 2 minutes I could see that I had everything I'd need. All the shortcuts, commands & tools are in the same place as PS. Layers, opacity, filters - all in the same place you'd normally look.

Hey, I'll give it one day of demoing but for $59 a license it looks great.

Good Luck Everyone!
