Not able to register a free account at itunes store (with screen shots)

Just bought a ipod touch from Argos last Saturday, and I'm really interested in getting some of the very handy free apps.

I really like the idea of apple invite programmers to develop applications together.

However, I soon found out that I wasn't able to create a free itune store account.

I followed this instruction closely. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534 But the register system just doesn't like it.

I have been trying to register on there since Saturday night. Here is a screen shot of the error. http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr125/kagamisuki/a-5.jpg

Could anyone help me with this please.

Thank you

The response I got pretty much says you can't make a "free" account without using those words..

"My name is Sandra from iTunes Store Customer Support and i understand that you would like to create an iTunes Store account without using a credit card. I am happy to help you with this. When you're ready to shop on the iTunes Store, you will need to create an account. This article will show you how:

If you wish to create an account without a credit card, you will need an iTunes Gift Card, iTunes Gift Certificate, or an allowance. Check out the instructions for creating an account without a credit card in this article:

Meanwhile...
1 week and nothing happened.

If you fill up with your credit card Apple Store charge you USD 1.00, if you dont you CANT get the FREE (I mean F-R-E-E) application. How is possible to download FREE application?

There is no sense at all.. Apple must send a release to explain this challenger. "Buying" FREE app without pay even go to store and B-U-Y a Gift Card.

Well most probably my reply will get angry most of you but I think this way of limiting user registrations is done on purpose... There was really no reason why apple would have stopped this so easy way of getting of apple ID's for the Apple Store hadn't been there so many free accounts created (legitimately or via several store "flaws" including this one that just appears to have been put down). I just bought an Ipod Touch and really wanted to get just some free apps and like you I am quite disappointed that I cannot register my own account. Hopefully someone will listen to us

To create a new iTunes Store account which will use ClickandBuy as its payment method, or to make your current account use ClickandBuy, please follow the steps outlined below:

1) Make sure you are using the latest version of iTunes. It can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple website at:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download

2) Verify that you have an active network connection and open iTunes.

3) From the pull-down Store menu at the top, choose Sign In.

4) If you have an iTunes Store account already, enter your account name and password then click Sign In. To create a new account, click the Create New Account button.

5) On the Billing Information page, select ClickandBuy as your method of payment.

6) On the ClickandBuy website, you may select a bank account or credit card as a payment method for your new ClickandBuy account.

7) Click the link to validate your ClickandBuy account and you will be directed to the ClickandBuy website.

8) Sign in to ClickandBuy with your account information.

9) Review and agree to the Billing Agreement.

10) Important step! - Click Return to Merchant to return to the iTunes Store (do not close your browser without clicking this link). If you are unable to finish this step, you will need to follow these steps again using your operating system's default web browser.

If you are able to complete the final step, your iTunes Store account should be set up to use ClickandBuy as its payment method. If you continue to experience difficulty, just reply to this email.

Thank you for your choosing iTunes and I hope this answers your question, if not please reply back. Thanks

i'll keep defending my right of being served waiting for a correct way to register.
