copy and paste of pictures

I just can't do a simple copy and paste. I copy a picture but when I paste it, the URL address is pasted not the photo.
There's an indirect and unpractical one (moving to Ipictures etc). I want an easy way like that in PC so you should convince me to stick with Mac.

A few more diagnostics: I can copy and paste to Mac applications (textedit) but not to Office products (Word, PP). This must be a compatibility issue but still it is a problem.

It works with Keynote and Pages by Apple, it doesn't with Microsoft's Powerpoint. The logical conclusion is simple: the problem is with Apple...
