Gmail Widget in Dashboard

Hello Everyone,
I hope that I have this question posted in the correct forum...I have been using the Gmail Inbox Counter Widget in Dashboard for about 8 months now with no problems whatsoever. As of yesterday, it no longer works at all. I have tried deleting it and reinstalling with no success.
Anyone else use this widget? and if so are you having the same difficulty?
Any help or suggestions would be most appreciated.

GotMailG seems to work okay. Must be something up with other widgets.

Hey everyone,
Have once again tried to install 2 Gmail widgets (I have included the links to these in this post, but they were originally provided by kurbis and alan flanary)...However, they are still not functioning.
Anyone using one of these widgets that IS currently working? If so, have you had any of the problems addressed in this post?
At this point, it appears that the these 2 widgets are a thing of the past...and I relied on them.
Will keep trying anyhow, to find a solution.

The widget still doesn't work :S
It worked for a short period of time (some hours).
The widget i'm using is very old (I never uninstalled and reinstalled it). So I suppose it's a GMail problem, the widget is ok. I suppose we have to wait...

I've deleted and re-installed this widget (software build date on google says dec 2007-one year old). Still no luck. All I get is a "signing in" message. I have not yet updated to 10.5.6

Still no dice for me. Gmail widget is dead for about a month now.
I guess they laid off the wrong guy 🙂

Same problem here(,there and everywhere.)

Some people might not have been through this problem, but as we can see, major users are suffering this error.

It is nothing to do with your OS type or version, as I've seen many users who have the same problem, even though they all are using different OS and different widgets(or gadgets for Windows Vista 🙂 )

I guess Google is working on something related with security which is disturbing logging in via atom feed server most of Gmail widgets are using.

This can explain why we can access Gmail using web browser while we can't do with widgets.

Hopefully Google will be concerned to this matter.

My official gmail widget has been working for a while now. I found a post somewhere that slips my mind after doing a google search on the topic. The fix for me and others was to log in to gmail from Safari, after which the widget worked properly again and has ever since. Weird.
