iTouch 2.2 software update problem

should i just wait until tomorrow then? or keep trying? or what?

same here i guess ill just wait until tomorrow morning too.

I think everyone will be waiting til' tomorrow, lol. Not sure if they'll be much less traffic then from the sounds of it.

Another person w/ the same problem. Amazing to say the least. I'm sure they are being bombarded w/ the same question from all of us. Hopefully a solution soon!

Hey, I have this problem as well. But my iPod Touch is now stuck on the screen that has the iTunes logo with a USB connector underneath it. Does anyone else have this specific problem? It's the same screen that shows up when you first get the iPod Touch. I've tried everything and now my iPod Touch is useless. Any ideas for this problem or do I need to make a whole new thread? By the way, I just got this iPod Touch for Christmas.

http://www.apple.com/ipodtouch/softwareupdate.html and just click on "upgrade now" after connecting device to comp(Before doing this itunes latest(8.0) should be installed)

Yeah, if you do that doesn't it just bring you back to the home screen of iTunes, therefore just making everyone buy software that doesn't work?

I've got two new "refurbs" and one updated fine on my older daughters login and itunes account but the other Ipod touch gives that permission error when we try to pay, download and update it under her or my itunes account. We even tried it on our other computer (XP) and it happens on it as well. Itunes is version 8 on both systems.

ok, something weird just happened. There was a post this morning from someone that said they solved the problem and they gave a web address of a download that restored it. I went to view it again and now the post is gone.

I bought the software and it doesn't work. Thanks apple help desk.

Do you think something could really be wrong with the internet connection and thats why it isn't working?

I noticed that too. If they spent more time sorting the problem out!!!

It is still on the tread ->Problems downloading iTouch 2.2 Update. This solution just restores it to 2.0 and not 2.2. This is good if you have 1.1.5. There still seems to be a problem with 2.2.

I paid to upgrade and then it failed:-( but at least I have 2.0 APPs and games and all.

Ugh...I know. This is hugely annoying. When someone finds the solution to the 'You do not have permission to access the blah blah' problem PLEASE post it. There are a stack of people who will be forever grateful.

I went into the Apple store on Regent Street yesterday and asked 2 guys what the problem was. They both told me to wait a couple of days and try again. Hugely helpful...not!
