iPhone restarts when plugged into computer.

I've been having a problem when occasionally (not all the time) I've plugged my iPhone (running 2.2) into my computer that the phone will reboot and start up again.

I can't think of anything that I've changed to cause this, I've restored the phone and restarted it manually but it still happens from time to time.

Most of the time when I plug it in iTunes isn't running.

Any help would be appreciated.

iMac 2.8, Mac OS X (10.5.5)

I have the same problem as well. Resets at random times. Dosen't matter if Itunes is running or not.

Same problem here - seems to have been so since last iPhone update. Get on it, Apple! Not a major issue - but an annoyance that's un-Apple-like! 😉

I ahd the same problem. Solved by using a new USB connector. Haven't had the problem since. BTW, I think I have used the older USB only with a wall-charger, and haven't had any problems.

I have been having the same problem. My iPhone restarts during "sync in progress" every two or three syncs. VERY ANNOYING!

same problem here. Wasnt sure if it started when I got my Macbook Pro Unibody, or if its since a certain iPhone firmware revision. But it's way annoying.

Im having the same problem also. my problem started when i stopped syncing with my PC and started syncing with my iMac. It restarts itself almost every time. 😟

I also have this problem with my iPod Touch 1G.
