Pairing Apple Keyboard with Windows 7

I am having a problem pairing my older apple keyboard (the non aluminum one) with windows 7. It will find the keyboard, but when I I try to pair them, it just says "connecting to device" and that is all. I was wondering if someone has found a solution for this problem.

Thanks

When trying to add my BT keyboard I got the errors described above. I found right-clicking and installing drivers gave me a litte confirmation bubble of BT HID Device install successful in the system tray but the Add Bluetooth Device window then can't find the keyboad, it just says searching ... I then tried typing 123456 and hitting return as above, the window disappeared and the keyboard works! Seems v. strange stuff is going on but hope this helps someone!

Hey guys,

This is what I did and it works (BC 3.1 + Windows 7 x64 + MBP late '09)

1. Device Manager
2. Click on "Bluetooth Radios"
3. Double Click on "Generic Bluetooth Driver" (Note: your driver may be something else, it really makes no difference, just pick the top most one)
4. Click on Driver Tab
5. Click Update Driver
6. Click Browse my computer....
7. Click "Let me pick..." (near the bottom of the dialog box)
8. Uncheck the box "Show Compatible Hardware"
9. Under Manufacturer, select Apple
10. Under Model, select "Apple Broadcom Built-in Bluetooth" The other two apple drivers did not work for me. Only this one does.
11. Follow remaining instructions.

I would also uncheck the "Allow the computer to turn off..." in the Power Management tab of the driver dialog box that opened in step 3 above.

Hope this helps.
