Camera icon won't show up on desktop.

Transfer 911
Bought a digital picture frame for a present due today.
Want to do a simple transfer of pictures from my iphoto library to the digital card in my nikon camera and then shoot pictures at the party then put in the chip in the Digital photo frame.
I have dragged and dropped from the iphoto library before so I know this works.
I've plugged in both nikon cameras I have but the icon's won't show up on the destop for me to open the card.
Why won't it recognize the cameras of all days-I have to get this done?

1 - you can change the launch when camera preference in either iPhoto or image capture - so launch iPhoto and open the preferences and change it

i have iphoto 6.0.6 and it doesn't seem to be an option in the preferences to make any changes to how it deals with the camera - maybe i should upgrade to the latest iphoto! but i'm going to try reinstalling again - keep your fingers crossed for me!!!

Its been a while since I used iPhoto 6 - I thought it had the connecting camera action preference - maybe iPhoto '08 was the first to have it (in addition to image capture)
