Goodbye Safari - life isn't long enough to untangle your ills

Safari crashes and hangs are truly Applelike - astonishing creativity. I've spent way too much time doing "everything" to bring stability. Enough. Somebody let me know if and when a decent build is released. Until then...

Though I've removed the plugins before and didn't solve anything, I gave it another shot. And, of course, right now Safari is working perfectly. The Acidsearch plugin, the one I suspected all along, seems to be the problem. I've returned the other threeone at a time, one a photoshop plugin, one a Notebook plugin, and so far, Safari is stable. Looks like Acidsearch is destined for the trash.

So who knows. Thank you for taking the time to dig through the crash log and pinpoint this. If Safari starts acting up, I'll post it.

This is a classic of its kind. The user tells the world Safari has problems is good for nothing.

So, is that the case?

No. The problem here is the user, not Safari.

Lesson learned?

Try being more circumspect about loading everything out there on your Mac. There is no law saying you have to make your Mac a test bed for making sure every piece of software made for the Mac works beautifully together...

Hi,

do I have Leopard if I have Mac OS 10.5.6?

Yes you do 🙂

And if I download the Onyx will it keep things running more smoothly?

It depends what the underlying problem you want to fix is, but it's a useful utility to have lying around. Generally you shouldn't need to run anything often to keeps things chugging away.
