Font Substitution_ArialMS

I recently purchased one of the new iMacs. This updated my version of iWeb 08, operating in system 10.4.11, to iWeb 09 in 10.5.6. When I began to update my website I encountered numerous error notifications stating, The font ArialMS" was substituted for the missing font "ArialMT". The warning also included substitution for the bold version of these fonts. To my knowledge, I've never used either of these type faces on my site. I found a discussion group post relating to this same problem from May 2006. The solution was to open the index.html.gz file, do a find/replace for the missing fonts in text edit. Save, then delete the original index.html.gz. I tried this but neither font was detected in the file, so this didn't work for me. These fonts are not in my system. I've tried to find them online with no success. Anyone have any ideas? This is an art site, and is huge. The thought of recreating each of the many effected pages is overwhelming. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hello Stephen Cook1. I followed your directions to the T, and it seemed to work prefectly for the duration of the work I did yesterday. Today, however, when I opened iWeb to begin working, I am getting a new error message that Arial MT is missing. It is no longer the old error message that it is being substituted, just "Missing Font Arial MT." I know for sure that Arial MT is now in my font library for both my system as well as my user. And, I still can't find a single word in my site where I have even used ArialMT. Any ideas? Thanks.

Just thought I would add my sad tale to the rest. I am also having this confounded issue with ArialMS being substituted for ArialMT. I have tried many of the fix attempts outlined earlier, but none have stuck for me. I've removed and re-instaled fonts again and again. I thought it might be because I "converted" an earlier version of an iWeb '06 site, but the other commentary suggests that this is an issue for "clean sheet" site builds, too. I'm somewhat surprised and annoyed that Apple has not resolved this yet, since the first post is almost a year old. Perhaps there are not enough of us inconvenienced to matter. It sure is an annoying time waster. Wish I had a fix, but I'll keep trying and post anything new. Thanks to all.

I have a somewhat similar problem. When I open iWeb an error message drops down and says I have a missing font - Braddonbold, run together just like that. When I try to hit "continue" - nothing happens I can't get rid of the error window so I can't get into the program and work on my site. I'm just frozen out. Mac help said they can't help me - I'm just out of luck. I don't have the font Braddon, never did, so I can't figure ou where this came from. I am running Snow Leopard - 10.6.2 iWeb '09.
