Canon iP4000 will not print wireless

Newbie Mac user here - love much of it but simple stuff seems quite complicated... so far.

Anyway looked through loads of posts and although I have moved this issue forward still can't print using wireless connection altho' can do using my Windows laptop no probs and can print via MacBook when USB connected. (PAHU hope you stay up late in Oz - could do with your help now !!)

Uninstalled the printer and started again, following loads of useful advice from you guys. When I go into Utility the printer is visible on USB (when connected) but no network options available (greyed out). I feel that if I can get this sorted it should enable me to print ... what step am I missing?

Thanks in advance for your help

Ok, I just read the manual for this print server and visited the support web site.

Belkin has instructions for setting this up with OS X, but it appears that the instructions are for Tiger, as they do not seem to match what you would do to set up a printer in Leopard.

The manual is located online here: http://cache-www.belkin.com/support/dl/f1up0001_manual.pdf

It appears that this print server works with Windows using a specific driver called a "Belkin Port Monitor". However, if you read the manual you can set up RAW IP printing instead; see page 22 of the manual. I know that greg sahli mentioned this in an earlier post, but it wasn't clear if you actually applied this setting in the web interface set up for the Belkin print server. If you have not yet tried the instructions to set up RAW IP printing that are on this page, it would be interesting to set this up and then see if that works with OS X. If so, it should work with Windows as well, though you may need to change the port for your printer in Windows, but I think that we could walk you through that as well.

Lastly, there is a firmware update available for the Belkin print server. I'm not sure if this will affect Mac printing, but it may be worth updating if changing to RAW IP printing does not work and you have not yet upgraded the firmware. Listen guys I just want to say thanks so much for all your help. I don't want to waste anymore of your time so I'm going to book in a time at an Apple Store to see if a "genius" can help out!!

A mixture of my lack of technical ability and the newness of Mac OS to me, means I can't take all your advice and do justice to it.

Thanks all - appreciate all your advice and the spirit in which it has been given.

I have a problem with the Belkin F1UP0001 wireless USB print server that is driving me crazy.

When printing, I was getting the error message "Remote host did not accept data file (32)". Pausing and Resuming the print queue cleared the problem, but it soon recurred with another document in the queue.

So I decided to delete and reinstall the OS X Printers, and reset the Belkin F1UP0001. But now when I try to print I get: Network host '192.168.11.6' is busy; will retry in 30 seconds.

I can't understand what I have done wrong. In Safari I can connect to the Print Server Setup Utility at http://192.168.11.6/. I am using the Brother HL-5150D series CUPS driver. The OS X Printer shows URL: ipp://192.168.11.6

I can print fine when directly connected to the printer by USB (using a differently configured second OS X Printer.)

Does anyone have any suggestions?
