Hi Mrs B - no, how could I ever forget you! ๐
Actually it's H, not B (but B is my maiden name initial, so you are not that far wrong in hitting the incorrect key!)
I didn't really think you would have forgotten me; that was a bit of sarcasm due the fact that I lost control of my own thread.
The version of SafariPlus listed for OS 10.4.11 and Safari 3 is version 1.6a1 beta (pre-release).
That's the one I installed a month or so ago, and as you say it works fine (or at least I think it has.) I just mentioned it because our 2 Macs that have SPlus installed have balked on Safari and the one the doesn't have it (the MBP) is fine (to quote Mr H who uses the MBP: "I can quit Safari, no problem, what's the fuss?)
I'm just searching here for reasons why Safari is giving me grief, aka I can't get out of it and SafariPlus is the only "enhancer (or) input manager" that is installed - new or otherwise.
By all means get rid of those useless, space and memory consuming 'favicons' (website icons), they will slow down Safari.
OK, I will, but will they come back? Could they be the problem with Safari not shutting down? Seems unlikely? I fine them somewhat useful when I check to see if the address is correct.
All 3 computers have sort of virtually the same stuff on them to some extent.
Thanks for making that so clear! ๐
I tried to make things simple ๐
In reality, what does that mean in terms of what might affect Safari, like enhancers, input managers and the like?
Of which I have none - just SafariPlus on the 2 Macs which are having Safari trouble, as I mentioned above.
So, the problem persists - and I have to force quit and I lose connection to Safari so when I put in a new search, it just stares at me - and no, I am not using open DNS, just my original Automatic setting and nothing else has been changed, for years re Safari.
HELP!
Mrs H
