Renewing lease (wifi)

After I recently got the fixed IP, Ruoter, etc for my Church & I tapped on "renew lease" to bring back the IP, etc. it seems like ever since I got my Touch replaced & got the IP, etc again after the vary first time I had it I'm having to hit "renew lease" ALOT more then before. It's stays on for like 1min or 2 but the I have to do it again. Why is that?

When I'm at Church next I'll try for sure (maybe Wed or before). Do you think it has more to do with the network & not my touch, like Lavlabs said? I tried forgeting my network and then went in my wifitrak app & tapped on my network & put in my password, is that all you do? also, when I tap on wifitrak SOMETIMES it shows me the name of the network twice. Do I use the one with the more singal strengh?

Networks that cover large areas my have multiple routers setup. They are linked to one another and broadcast the network name but the signal strength will vary based on your distance from the transmitter. You will see multiple occurrences of the network with the only difference being signal strength and channel they are broadcasting on.

Forgeting the network worked. After I taped it I went into settings to look @ the info, the IP was 1 number off .1001 so I canged it to .100 (did that matter if it worked before I changed it?) Before hand I went to my wifiTrak app & choose the network & had to put in the password there, later on in Safari I had to put it in again. Also, does it matter how many people are near the router on a busy day during the week? (it that called "noise")

I'm getting fed up with this. I once again was unable to access wifi @ my Church this morning (Sun). When I tapped on my wifitrak app & connected I went into settings & the IP, etc was all different I changed 'em to the right ones. Still no luck. I forgot the network & reset the sittings, tried again, but still NO luck. Does "noice" back a difference? (is the people?) LOL Please help

bump. I was told by the guy at Chruch all you have to do is "renew the lease" but that doesn't seem to work or does "forgetting the network"

I'm not use to how all of the wifi works, but why sometimes when you put in your fixed IP, etc & it changes to a whole new set of numbers?
