Apple TV sync is taking forever- Will this happen each time I sync?

Ditto here on the endless sync. It started after the 10.5.7update I believe. Reset tv and it fixes the problem for a short period only. Wake up Apple, we have a problem.

I tried this and it didn't work- the ATV wouldn't start the sync because it was trying to ontact the iTunes store over the ethernet, despite the fact that the imac with the main library was still connected to the wireless network. there is nothing in the documentation about this problem- has anyone else run into this?

Same issue here - also just started in the last few weeks. I get the "syncing" message at top of itunes but no content moves. In fact what I see is the scrolling bars that usually mean "connecting", not the smooth marching bar that shows sync progress. Rebooting only stops it for a short while. Also no actual syncing is happening - no new content has been moved to these ATV's fir weeks now. I have 4 apple TV's (weird I know) and this is happening with 2 of them - and one is the one closest to the wireless router so it's not a signal issue. Have had these ATV's for about a year without this problem. Any help out there?

Bought an apple tv yesterday and encountering the same problem as everyone else. I am only syncing 2 movies and 40 songs and it just won't sync, so i have to keep canceling it. i havn't tried using ethernet yet so... hopefully apple can fix this.

BTW - I had this same issue over the last few weeks. Downloaded the newest ATV firmware and problem disappeared. Best of luck all.
