Nvidia GT 120 - Can someone confirm it's working in 2008 mac pros?

I have a 2008 mac pro, and although I have the ATI Radeon 4870 1GB version which is PC Flashed, I was wondering if the Nvidia card will work in 2008 mac pros despite what Apple says. At first, I was looking to ditch the Radeon 1GB for the Radeon 512 from Apple, as it has the mini-display port. But, the Nvidia option seems more reasonable.
Can someone comment on what I should do? Should I get the 4870 or the 120?
I plan on purchasing sometime next week the 24 inch ACD.
