Mighty Mouse keeps losing connection

I have a pretty new 17" Mac Book Pro with a wireless Mighty Mouse. The mouse is consistently losing the connection with the computer and I have to go to the Bluetooth menu to re-establish the connection. Is this a known issue or does this computer or Mighty Mouse have a defect?

I'm having a similar issue since the latest leopard upgrade. I've found that there are two (rougly equivalent) ways to get it going again....

Long way: Turn off bluetooth, turn back on again.
Short way: In terminal: sudo killall -HUP blued

The advantage of the short way is that you can do it purely from the keyboard, so I don't have to open up my usually closed macbook and use the trackpad.

Add me to those who started having this problem after the 10.5.7 upgrade. I lose both the mouse and the keyboard about once or twice a day and the only way I can get it back is to open the MacBook and turn off Bluetooth and then turn it back on again.

I'm sure that true to Apple form, we'll hear no official replies here for something this insignificant, but one day there will be an update that mysteriously fixes this and we'll all forget about it. Happens all the time.

As I said here earlier would eventually happen. Nothing official here in the forum but today Apple released a Bluetooth update and this problem is resolved. I'm betting if anyone still having this problem will do the update it will fix the problem. I guess we should be happy they fixed it and not worry about why they don't reply in their forums.

Hello Larry:

I am not an apologist for anyone - particularly corporations. However, these forums are, by definition, user-to-user. Apple moderates the forums and does get feedback from the posts. Apple does not, however, respond directly. If you have feedback for Apple, use the OS X feedback facility in another part of this web site.
