Map not moving & Google Search not working

I am so frustrated. I am trying to add a custom location in iPhoto.

To do this I am using the Google Search in Manage My Places section. The google search just does not work. I type in London and the map greys out and the round timer comes up and then nothing.... It runs like this forever!

In addition, I have tried to grab the map to centre a part of it I am interested in. Grabbing the map just picks up the square of the map I have selected and tries to copy it. If I hold on and take it over the desktop and then release, it copies a square of the map into a file and deposits it on the desktop. I have tried this in all of the parts of the app that let me see a map. They all behave the same.

I have read from the forum that other people have had this kind of problem when their internet connection isn't working but mine is.

I have switched off the firewall. No change

Google works fine on Safari and it can find London....

Help!!!

I did leave the Welcome window intact but it still fails. I think part of the problem is from the fact that I have multiple libraries and have been using iPhoto Library Manager to switch from one to another may negate the fix applied to the first library. Am still trying to figure which combination works and doesn't work. But for just one library it worked.

Yes, updating to Safari 4.0.1 fixed it right away for me. I did not even have to go back and trash the plist file again. I just updated and then open iPhoto to test it and everything worked fine in places. Amazing this was not caught before it went out given they are both Apple products, but at least them seemed to have fixed it soon enough.
