Add midi controller?

Hey everyone,

I recently picked up Logic Studio and am very excited to get started recording some of my stuff. So I plugged in my Novation Remote 25 LE Midi Keyboard/Controller and it didn't work. I went to Preferences and looked around for an answer on how to add. I got a list of some midi controllers but I have no idea how to get my working with Logic. I'm a novice to the program so any help provided will be helpful. All I want is to be able to control the logic synths with my Novation Remote 25 LE.

Thanks so much,
Henry

Very sorry — didn't mean to confuse. I meant that your screenshot shows that you haven't emptied your Trash, which is of course completely irrelevant (& also that you use Photoshop, etc.).

But although 'Remote LE' is visible, there are no connections to or from it. You see the little arrows at the bottom? They are Ins & Outs.

Please don't be distracted by this if it is irrelevant; I haven't read the thread thoroughly, so this might not be your particular problem (looks like a problem from here, though).

Ok, the keyboard is showing in your AMS utility - that means it's installed, and recognised by OSX.

That's a good start.

Does the keyboard have a switch on it with two positions like "USB <---> MIDI"? If so, make sure it's set to USB, so it's sending it's MIDI data to the computer, rather than out of it's MIDI port.

Run Logic, open an Environment window, and select the "Click & Ports" layer (it will probably show the Mixer layer by default when you open the window).

Can you do a screen grab of the Click & Ports layer and post it? Also, play some keys on the keyboard, and screen grab the same Click & Ports layer now.
