Voice Control on iPhone 3G

Yes, there are other Voice Dialing apps out there. But you know that Apple will do it better, plus they can integrate it into the hardware. What is the point of a voice dialing app if I still have to find the app on my phone and launch it? Apple's version integrates with the home button so that I don't even need to look at my phone. That's the point! I still have to disagree that its a CPU/RAM issue.

this has been around for years. my old kenwood in-dash dvd player for my car offered this feature through a regular phone. Just like XBOX is now getting ready to offer a Wii type style game and add-on. IPhone is not all new technology just technology refined. the iphone should have been called Ifined. LOL

How do you know that the current VC would not work on the 3G? Are you privy to some engineering or testing? Look I love apple, but this is really not defendable (not that any customer should even feel the need to defend them).

No, it was not well known to me that the iphone 3G did not have vc...as a matter of fact, ATT sold me a bluetooth and told me it would work with the 3G...yes, it does work , but not for vc...and the new 3GS has vc, but everything I've read says it has problems...my husband and I are in law enforcement and in California it is against the law to drive and dial or whatever apps you want to use, must be handsfree...I've had vc with verizon for over 10 years...I am so disappointed that Apple (which makes excellent products)did not make vc for the iphone...i will probably go to a BB which from what I understand has vc...what other apps are out there to download to use vc? And why doesn't Apple make an app for vc that works for the 3G?

So now the 3GS is out... plus the NEW softwear this week... anyone able to tell me HOW to use voice dial short of calling the techs and spending hours on the phone? Actually apple has been good to me so can't complain about a little wait time but still... there has to be an iPhone smarty out there to answer such a simple question. THANKS!!!

I agree that Apple dropped the ball on this one! Apple is making this an exclusive app for the the new 3GS. Boooooo Boooooo! Shame on you Apple!

I think that the argument about RAM and CPU is bogus! I can have Spotlight on my phone but no Voice Control???? Come on... Spotlight has to use more resources! Am I wrong?

The Voice Command feature on the RAZR rocked!!! I am sure the iphone has more processing power than the RAZR, yet still no voice control...
