Battery goes down incredibly fast after 3.0 update?

Hi there,

Has anyone else noticed that their battery indicator seems to be going down at a rate of knots after the OS3 update? I took mine off charge full this morning at 0730. It's now 0950, I've not used the phone much at all and it is below half way already!!

THIS IS NOT SIMPLY A PUSH PROBLEM! Many of us are using push accounts with no problems. It is a PUSH+ problem, where something, probably an app such as IM+ or similar apps, which use push, are causing the problems. Check for any messaging apps you may have that utilize push, even when not open. Delete them for now. Maybe a 3.0 version of the app has not been released or maybe there's a bug where it doesn't play well with 3.0.

I got myself a new 8GB iPhone 3G last friday. I activated it and updated to 3.0 since it shipped with version 2.1
I added an exchange account to check every 15 minutes, and installed a couple of applications.
I let it drain it's battery fully by using it for movie playback.
On monday it was time to take it to work, replacing a SE p1i with a claimed battery life of, talk time 3 hours and 30 minutes, standby 350 hours on 3G network.
Battery was dead 11 o clock !! My trusty old p1i almost allways survived the day.
Next day, I turned location off, dimmed the display etc etc.
Battery dead completely 16.00. No other use than mail and talking.
Today I have turned off 3g, turned off airport ask to join off, mail is set to manual.
It seems I have 70% left now after three hours of use, but today I have only used it for talking 5 minutes.
Tomorrow I will remove the mail account completely to see if it will last a full work day for me.
Next day I will remove all third party apps thatI have installed. I thought the iPhone didn't support multitasking so how can they take cpu?
It would be nice with a "Activity control" on the iPhone to make sure there are no dead processes taking 100% cpu.

Same problem here; after the 3.0 bug update, and it did not happen immediately. Performance began deteriorating over a week after software update and battery overheating and reduced battery life exhibited.
No third party applications in use for messaging, email, web, etc.
Won't be changing settings or turning off features.
Will be returning phone, again and again and again until fixed.
Never set out to buy an Apple paperweight.
