Today I downloaded a new app. No problem during the purchase. I had to sign in to my account and that worked fine. Now I want to leave a review for that app, but iTunes keeps asking my for my password. It's like it doesn't recognize what I am typing in. I left a review using my iPhone and didn't have a problem signing in from there.
Is the server too busy from everyone downloading iPhone 3.0? This is frustrating. Any ideas?
Well, I installed iTunes on my laptop. Open iTunes, logged in to the iTunes Store. Went to the app I wanted to leave a review for. Clicked review, and presto-change-o I'm in the review page. I didn't have to sign in to leave a review like I normally do at my home computer. I'm going to wait a while so that my userid is timed out. Then I'll try it again.
OK - I let myself time out. Opened iTunes, went to the App Store, selected my particular app, clicked to leave a review, signed in...... and it worked. So it must be fixed now. I am going to mark this thread as solved. I hope it works for everyone else that had this problem. Thanks to everyone that notified iTS that they had the same problem.
Okay, they must have fixed it. I did NOT change my password, I simply came home, fired up iTunes and tried to leave a review. It asked for my password, which I only had to enter once (YEAH!) and then voila! I was in.
Unbelievably I had yet another response from Apple today completely missing the point. I'm going to guess here that they're using foreign (outsourced?) staff to respond to these enquiries, and that they've mistaken the word 'review' for view - essentially thinking that I couldn't
view my past purchases via iTunes. I've sent another response trying to explain the issue in another way hoping they'll get it.
In the meantime I've just gone and tried again and the issue appears resolved for me too.
hello!
alrighty I said I would re-post if I got it to work, and well I did.
I didn't touch any of my settings, didn't update iTunes, didn't do anything but wait. I would try to post a review once or twice a day and today for some reason it decided to work.
I hope other people are having this miracle happen also, and I wish I was able to give more info, but it literally just seemed to want to work today.
All I can suggest to everyone that continues to have this problem, is to contact iTunes Support. The more users that contact them, the more they will be aware of the extent to the problem.
