I got my new iPod nano 6th gen today and when I synced the first time I got the error 13019 ms. I tried the above suggestions without improvement until I unchecked "purchased" music on the sync music options page and then re-synced. My purchased music on individual playlists is there and plays normally. I only get the error when I check the "purchased" option. I have no idea why this worked and I only found it by trial and error.

i have most of my music from persoanl cd's and i have used two other computers that have crashed to put music on my ipod. now this error occurs and all ways to fix this will delete all of my music and apps. none of my music or apps are on this new computer i have and it would be a real pain to reload all the music i have from old vinals and cd's... any ideas for help? i would also like to thank itunes for being incredibly user friendly 😟 maybe apple could learn somthing from their competitors

i have the same issue as mjtrain, my music is a lot of my own and from numerous cd's over the years that i do not have access to as well as from a computer that crashed and I now have a new mac with hardly any music compared to the almost full itouch. i CAN NOT restore or let itunes erase my library and replace it with next to nothing from my new computer. there has to be a fix that does not result in erasing my itouch...in general i hate how apple does not really let you control your music library, because all of your music is subject to itunes errors. for users who sync a lot of their own created music, different versions etc, i really only have control over my music until itunes geeks and i have to do whatever destructive fix they have created....please help, apple/itunes can't be this user unfriendly!!!!!!! i have many demo's done in other studio's on my itouch that i do not have acces to. HELP!!!!

I would like to first state that you will not get a good solution from itunes as far as this problem is concerned. Very user unfriendly, but what I did was download a "ripper" that removes all your ipod's content and stores it on your hard drive. I can't remember the exact name of it but I will repost to this when I have found out the name of the program. After doing this I restored my ipod touch 32g 4g and I have not had any other problems.

Just thought I'd add some more info. I, too, was able to elimate the error by erasing all "duplicate" songs. Here's the kicker-- many of the songs that Itunes was identifying as "duplicates" were actually different versions of the same song.

The key (for me) was to change songs with identical titles so that each title was slightly different. Once every song had a unique title, the problem was solved. Itunes idenitfies songs as identical even if they are of vastly different length, album name, etc.

Glad I could help!

This problem is really confusing, because Itunes appears to be somewhat inconsistent and illogical in what it considers to be "duplicates." (some songs with the same name aren't considered duplicates, while others are)

What worked for me was going to my Itunes music library, then clicking on "Display Duplicates" under the "File" tab.

You goal should be to clear the entire box, by whatever means necessary (you can reclick on "Display Duplicates" to check your progress. Some songs I had were real duplicates, others just had the same name, and required a modified name.

Thank you, thank you, JWFLangley. I tried many of the fixes here with no success on my iPod 4th gen, but the issue for me was a corrupt song that I had recently added. I went back into my recent purchases and deleted (after burning them to a CD so that I could put them back if they weren't the problem!) two songs that had not transferred to my iPod. Resynced and still had the problem. Then I remembered that I downloaded two free songs from National Public Radio around Christmastime. As soon as I found those songs and deleted them, the iPod synced perfectly.
