24 inch LED cinema Display momentarily goes black

I have a 24inch LED Cinema Display attached to the mini-display port of a ATI Radeon HD 4870, with a 23inch Cinema Display attached to the other port. The 23 inch is fine but the 24 inch display every so often goes BLACK for a second or two. I thought it was the display and had it replaced but it's happening with the replacement. Perhaps the video card, or even the mini-display port on the card? Anyone having this issue or have any ideas? I appreciate your help.

2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, Mac OS X (10.5.7), 8GB ram

30 mins on hold with apple customer care and still no luck .. guess now 24 inch is discontinued so will be its apple support ?

UPDATE ... well, Apple took in my monitor and with a 3 day turnaround replaced the Logic board. The monitor has been fine for the past 48 hrs 🙂

Several days have passed since I wrapped my cable in RF shielding material. No flickering so far. Maybe this is a solution -- at least for some -- fingers remain crossed.

My 24 inch display now sits behind a samsung monitor. It is now a very expensive webcam.

After 8 frustrating months and 3 returns, Apple has replaced my 24 inch monitor with a new , larger one. No extra fee. I bought AppleCare too.

had the same problem with latest new 2012 15" mbp, https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4148874?answerId=19068789022#19068789022&ac_cid=op123456#19068789, the firmware update did the trick!
