Bluetooth Stereo Audio Problem

I excitedly upgraded to iPhone 3.0 hoping I could throw away my cords forever and listen to music through my bluetooth-capable pioneer stereo. Did the update, rushed out to the car, synced up (all good so far) banged on my current fave tune, and cranked it. The song started, I gushed with delight for about 10 seconds then ... a little break in the music, a slight stutter. Huh? It happened again about 5 seconds later, then again, and again, every 5 to 10 seconds. Aaaaargh! Not a fade out, but a micropause. The song starts again where it left off, rather than missing a bit.

It's good enough for podcasts, but NOT GOOD ENOUGH for music. What's going on? Can anyone help me?

I have the same problem! It is driving me nuts. I have paired my iphone with os 3.0 to my motorola s9 headset and I am experiencing the same issue. Songs break up and it stutters. I thought it was my headset. I tried it with my wife's samsung eternity and no problem. What gives?? Is something running that causes this delay?? Any help people?? Apple needs to look into this.

Nearly ditto here. I am running an awesome pair of Altec-Lansing 9xxBackBeat headphones that really make me quite happy, EXCEPT!!!! the lag issues arise, pitch changes happens and other various strange drags (notes and beats tend to drag out beyond their bounds or are shorter than they should be).

I have also noticed another bug where iTunes will stop playing audio/music when the phone autolocks after being on for a while. If I kill the iTunes process and restart it, the audio plays again just fine, so this issue is not the same as the above and is a bug in iTunes with Bluetooth audio playback upon autolock.

Please help. This experience is going to be amazing once you work out the kinks, but this is very much driving me nuts at the moment and I've spent quite a bit of money to get myself into this position with my iPhone 3G 3.0 installation with new headphones and a special long distance trip just to get into these bad boy headphones.

I have the same issues with a Pioneer car deck. I have found if I powercycle the iPhone before heading out to the car I have better success. I've not narrowed down the cause but it seems like data Is being dropped. It has sounded at times like the data rate has reduced as it has sounded like the fidelity was reduce in negotiating for a slower streaming rate. That is still a new theory recently formed.

I hope you get some relief even though power cycling often is a real hassel.

Hi,

I'm have a Sony IS800 and have also some cutout in the Music or Stutter - seems to be only via Stereo - normal call have not such problem - or currently not found - and the interval is random at my side - i can reduce it by putting the iphone close to the Headset - but i suggest it should work also if then distance is greater then 10 CM.....

Apple - please fix the Bluetooth

Same problem with a Sony MEX-BT2700 head unit. Podcasts seem to be fine, but playing music cuts out or has loud crackling sounds (assuming some kind of digital signal loss) after a few seconds of play. Pausing the track for a few seconds and they restarting makes it go away for a second or two, but it comes right back. Interestingly, when I pause the track the crackling sounds continue for a second or two even though the music is silenced. I'm guessing isn't able to keep up with the the A2DP conversion when dealing with more complex audio. Very annoying.

Just to add something here... this happens with anything playing music over bluetooth. Several threads related to Microsoft Sync in Ford Vehicles report doing this exact same thing. My Ford F150 with Sync autostarts bluetooth audio, which I don't like, but it pauses every so often. Makes it unusable. At least we have the direct USB connection in the Sync and it works perfectly there. Just the bluetooth audio option does this.
