iso files to avi files

how do i translate my old pc adobe product short films saves as iso files to my new mac book pro avi files?
also
can i copy a personal made film in dvd format and after using mpeg stream clip and vob file to make an avi file, how do i retrieve my soundtrack?

however the problem still exists.
a vob file has No Sound.

Well, hello there! I had to author some DVDs. Done now.

Open *DVD Player* from your Applications folder.
Go to the File menu and choose "Open DVD Media".
Navigate to your VIDEO_TS folder. Choose it.
Press play on the controller.
Do you hear sound?

the original file
as i have said earlier
has many files inside of it
the dvd it came from has Sound!

still unresolved!

i had to open the entire file from the scroll down menu
and then it worked with sound.
