That sounds like a reasonable idea to me 😉

64-bit most likely via an LP9 update, after OSX-SL is released. maybe sometime in Oct. ?

Exs24 still the same, maybe improved editor, but it would have been nice to see a new version.

No New VI's ? still the good old bunch ... Oh well, maybe in a future update we will have some new instruments.

No much new effects, except some guitar stuff, and space designer new feature.

Hopefully it is a very stable first release. with more to come via future updates.

The new Space Designer warped FX (450 IRs) sounds very promising...

Me, too. I just got off the phone with customer service, they will only honor a grace period upgrade if the box has not been opened. And they were snotty about it, too. I love the feeling of spending a few hundred dollars, my timing off by two weeks, and then a snotty customer service person in response. Apparently, if I had not opened the box, a 14 day grace period would apply.

is it just me who feels really kicked in the butt by apple? i upgraded from 7 to 8, tought this was a nice deal although i felt a little frustrated about the new price policy (i paid something like 600 euros on logic 7 , can´t really remember, and then logic 8 was sold for 450 - well, that´s the way it is. ok. paid 200 € for the upgrade).
then - bugs, bugs bugs. two lousy updates. nothing else. still bugs. no f +ing word from apple about bugfixes, updates, no communication to the forum, as far as i noticed. now, a complete new version is out ! nice - for 200 bucks upgrade ?????
i mean, i got L8 for a year or so, ok screw me, if i want the upgrade i have to pay for it. But what about the people who bought it a month ago??? any hints on a disount ? i didn´t found one.

i mean it was sad enough that i had to pay for the Universal Binary Update (50€) of Logic 7 , i don´t know any other company who charged a UB update (not cubase, not LIVE, not NI, not propellerheads - the all gave their updates for free).-

i frequently come along to this forum and appreciate the help offered by the users, and the skills that they are sharing.
but i haven´t seen any post from an apple-employee.
saying that i come from the ableton-live-forum, where everybody is griping about the lame version 8, BUT the abletons seem to care and are giving feedback and responses !!! (maybe i´m not too often here in the logic forum, dunno.)

but i really feel ****** !!!!
it´s the take it or leave it mentally, that really makes me think of changing my DAW.

and please don´t get me wrong: if someone wants to use a programm, he has to buy it and use it and get along with everything that matters.
if you don´t want to use something, don´t use it.
i use logic because i like it and i never grined about lacking features. i always try to get along with what the software has to offer.

Also, it's official - Academic versions of Logic are not eligable for the upgrade pricing.

So Apple's academic non-upgrade policy still stands. This is written clearly on the shop pages for the upgrade, so that answers that ongoing question.

And a Kore-esque management system for both instruments and samples. Hopefully they've updated Ultrabeat too.

Am I the only one who is completely underwhelmed by the new additions in 9?

No one yet knows how well (or not) they (the new/improved features) work. But no real bombshells, at first glance, no.
