Header and Footer on only the first page.

I do a ladies newsletter. I am switching to Pages. In the past I have always done the first page separate because it is the only page with a header and footer. How can I do it all in document? I am reading the help guide, checked first page is different but still no luck. I only want two columns on the rest of the newsletter. The front page will have header, footer, and then two columns of print.

Thanks in advance!

No, as you are not clear about it. In my world when you don't see anything in the footer there isn't any footer even if the application gives you a possibility to put something there.

The title and the question are clear.
The OP want header and footer on page 1 . He doesn't want them on other pages.

I repeat that this can't be achieved using header/footer feature.

If a footer is available on page 1, it is available on every pages.

Yes, available is the word. See above!! I think most people react as I do.

The contents may be changed (even be nothing) but the footer will exist.

In this first example, I defined header and footer in page 1.
Even setting 'page 1 is different", you may see that the header/footer items are available in Page 2.
I reduced their height but they are here and behave as limits for the main text layer.

Do you really think that this is the problem for the OP?? Do you think that the OP wants the text so far out to the bottom edge?

Hopefully Karen pops in and tells us more specifically what she wants and what solution suites her best!

I apologize, _an empty footer is a footer_ as well as _an empty string is a string_ .
If you store an empty string in a cell, it's no longer empty and ISBLANK() returns FALSE.

The empty but existing footer header is a problem as far as we want to use a large area of the sheet.

Of course only the OP knows if he want stricto-sensu "no header/footer" or if having invisible ones is satisfying.
