every one of my apps won't work! i will tap on it and then i will imeadetly get the home screen again! please help me! i have tried deleting all apps then snycing it through my computer but it still doesn't work!

I attempted every "fix" throughout this thread to no avail whatsoever. I am becoming very agitated. What is an iPhone with no apps? It's what I've got... A worthless piece of equipment that does nothing it claims to be able to do. All my apps are gone, I permanently deleted all of them. It's been a nightmare ever since I upgraded to 3.0.1, what a piece of JUNK! I'm about to just sell the phone, or throw it out the window, whichever one happens first.
A similar problem is happening to me on my facebook app. Every time I click on certain friends on fbook chat, it just sends me back to the iPhone home dock. I've rebooted, reinstalled the app, etc.
I was experiencing the same issues with my 3GS iPhone and the issue went away as soon as I authorized the machine and sync'ed my iphone. All 3rd party apps work fine now.
Happened to me too. This angers me. On this forum I see that Apple had this problem for 14 months AND HAS NOT FIXED IT. I wish I had read this threat before buying my iPhone last week. I need a dependable tool not a toy I need to reload and fiddle with for hours every week!
I just wanted to thank you for your suggestion about downloading a free app and trying it again. It worked!! I only wish I knew why it happened and how to guard against it happening again. Thanks!
wow. have the same problem.. third party apps and some music flashes on and closes (or doesn't play).. have updated, deleted apps (not music), de/re authorized, went down to a factory reboot, re downloaded apps.. did EVERYTHING you all have done (except call apple), and they still won't work.. funny thing, on the same computer.. same updates, same apps, (different contacts and music) i have another iphone that's working fine! no problems! i'm tempted to see if i can just duplicate that phone and then start modifying... wonder if that will work. and how can i export the contacts to something so i can get those back?
